Bathroom Remodel Calling it Home One Room Challenge Week 5

Noni

Less than a week away to the reveal and there are so many amazing spaces coming together here

I am going to give you some advice now. If you are thinking of doing tile on your own, my words if wisdom: don’t do it. Tile is not easy like paint, sheet rocking, or trim. All of those you can easily redo if you screw up. Tile on the other hand is HARD to redo and even if you don’t have to redo it aesthetically there is so much that can go wrong in the prep work. My husband does tile for a living and he gets calls for repairs and fixes more than anything and that’s even when the pros have installed it. If you decide you are ballsy and can do this, at least get a buddy who knows about or has done tile to help you. There’s nothing worse than investing in expensive tile and then having to rip it out. Ok moving on…

As far as our progress, could be better. We still don’t have lighting and the vanity. I don’t really want to rush the vanity because it’s marble and we are doing it ourselves. Plus my husband needs special tools to do it so we will be waiting on them. I feel like everything after that is optional or pretty.

My husband has to finish the floor this weekend and then the grouting. I still need to get the paint and find the perfect mirror because ‘the one’ hasn’t showed up. Still need a door and casing. Obviously it’s not a hard thing to find, just time consuming.

The subway tile though. I never thought I could love tile so much! It’s so clean and bright!
